The Castleman Disease Collaborative Network (CDCN) is a global nonprofit organization on a mission to create a world where all Castleman disease patients live full lives. The CDCN is dedicated to accelerating research and treatment for this rare and potentially life-threatening disease, supporting patients on their journeys, and revolutionizing biomedical research for countless other diseases. In the last 12 years, we have led the development of the first-ever diagnostic criteria and treatment guidelines for Castleman disease, uncovered multiple new treatments, and helped thousands of patients around the world. Our work has been highlighted by the New York TimesGood Morning AmericaCNN and other major media outlets.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Program Coordinator to join the CDCN Team, reporting to the Director of Programming & Operations. This individual will be involved in virtually all aspects of the CDCN, including point-in-time projects, ongoing programs, support for fundraising initiatives, events and community engagement. Ideal Candidate 

The ideal candidate is experienced in project management, while maintaining the integrity of the details to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal skills, collaboration, founder’s mentality and diplomacy are needed.

Responsibilities 

  • Community Engagement Programs and Operations
    • Support community and fundraising event planning and execution, such as fundraisers and community events among patients and loved ones, physicians and researchers, and donors and supporters.
    • Provide project management support across the core team of the CDCN.
    • Support and optimize the CDCN website and community discussion board to meet user needs through enhancements, creating summary reports, and updating configurations.
    • Maintain clean and complete CRM records for patients and loved ones, and physician and researcher communities.
    • Prepare agendas and materials for various governing and executive bodies and committees.
    • Analyze data related to audience engagement and fundraising campaigns.
    • Generate reports to help improve outreach strategies and track the effectiveness of campaigns.
  • Development Operations
    • Manage and maintain key platforms for CRM, working under the guidance of the Director of Programming & Operations.
    • Process donations including CRM entries, acknowledgement letters and stewardship processes.
    • Update and track donor records and activities in CRM.
    • Track on donor actions within the donor database to ensure key fundraising milestones and activities are executed on.
    • Conduct regular financial reconciliations with the Treasurer between CRM and Quickbooks contribution data.
    • Create and manage fundraising business processes and structures in partnership with the Executive Director and Treasurer.
    • Produce fundraising reports for team, board and advisory council meetings to inform key stakeholders on fundraising status.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration
    • Partner with Communications and Development to execute on elements of  marketing and communications.
    • Partner with the Center for Cytokine Storm Treatment & Laboratory (CSTL) team to ensure the CDCN’s strategy maximizes growth, relationships and engagement points with stakeholders.
  • Additional roles and responsibilities related to the mission of the organization, as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience
  • Project management experience preferred
  • Position located in our office in University City, Philadelphia (with some flexibility for remote working available)
  • Proficient in Apple, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and PC; experience with donor engagement CRMs and monday.com desired.
  • Skills: organization, relationship management, basic analysis, written and verbal communication
