12/17/2020 The much-anticipated first-ever unicentric Castleman disease (UCD) treatment guidelines have officially been published in Blood Advances! The Castleman Disease Collaborative Network brought together a group of 42 experts from 10 countries to establish consensus recommendations that will help physicians decide the best therapeutic approach for their UCD patients. This is a major milestone for our UCD community as these guidelines will improve the diagnosis and treatment of UCD patients worldwide. This manuscript is significant because before this publication there were no published diagnostic and treatment guidelines for unicentric Castleman disease (UCD). This paper provides guidance on the management of UCD based on the review of treatment in published cases of UCD, the Castleman Disease Collaborative Network (CDCN)ACCELERATE Registry, and expert opinion. These first-ever guidelines will improve the outcomes of UCD patients and help treating physicians decide the best therapeutic approach for their patients.
