This year’s Quest for a Cure was particularly heartfelt. David Fajgenbaum and Mileva Repasky honored the Castleman warriors in our CDCN community who passed away from Castleman disease in the past year. Despite the incredible progress that has been made in the fight against Castleman disease in recent years, it was a reminder of the importance of joining together to continue fighting for a cure for this disease. In addition, David Fajgenbaum presented Glen de Vries, President and Co-Founder of Medidata, with the Castleman Warrior Community Member of the Year Award. Mr. de Vries has generously donated his company’s time and technology by providing the data analysis for our SPEED-II study, a large proteomics study that looked ~1,300 proteins from ~80 patients in effort to determine which key proteins may be involved in Castleman disease. Data analysis was done via the Medidata Rave Omics machine learning program.
